Scenes From Route 66 March 2008

Here's a quick collection of our photos from Route 66 between Williams and Kingman Arizona. Unfortunatly we had to drive it in a horribly uncool rental car, a Dodge Caliber, which ran fine but had as much power as three rubberbands. Few captions as needed. Sadly this auto gallery software doesn't put pictures in the same order I had them in their folder and I don't feel like re-arranging them, so they're not in order!

There were old cars parked all over along the road. Some had mannequins in them (see close up later)

This drive-in had zillions of cards and pics stuck up over every square inch of space I work at KOZY radio, so this was funny. Also, the home of Headicus.

Yes, we found a Corvair This gas station mens room had girlie pictures covering every square inch of the walls and ceiling. This is Angel Delgadillo. He has a barbershop in Seligman, AZ which used to be his fathers (there's a photo of it in here someplace). He's the guy who 30-40 years ago said we should try to save and market Historic Route 66. Now knows as the "Angel of Route 66"

Roadkill Cafe menu (don't know if you can read it here) Philips 66 got their name from Route 66. My grandfather was a Phillips 66 dealer in the 30's. Hence, my fascination with them.
