First, just a short bit about me and 16mm cameras. I've been a camera nut since I was a little kid, An interest I inherited from my father. I shot for my high school year book in the mid 70's, and also became a bit of a camera collector around that time as well. One big part of my collecting is that I had to be able to actually USE the camera's in my collection. I picked up a Minolta 16MG kit, used, at Century Camera in downtown Minneapolis when I was in 8th grade. That would have been around 1971. By 1975 I was in high school and taking a LOT of pictures, sub-mini and others. My main use for my Minolta 16MG was to sneak it into rock concerts where cameras were generally not allowed. Seems to me the black and white film I bought then had a speed of ASA 320. I had some fantastic pictures from a Rolling Stones concert in about 1975. Unfortunately, all my photos were ruined when my house suffered a flood in 1981.
I did have a few color photos taken with the 16MG that survived. Two of them are shown below, scanned at 100DPI, from the original photos as returned from the processor. These date from about l979. Shot on whatever was the "normal" Minolta brand color print film at the time, and using the flash unit that comes with the 16MG (AG-1B flash bulb). I always thought these pictures had incredible detail all things considered. It's a friend of mine who ran a collectible music/record/memorabilia store. One with a great old Wurlitzer jukebox, and a shot of a 1951 AMI jukebox.
